Our target

We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We have not yet had this independently verified, and we are not claiming full conformance.

What's in place today

A "skip to main content" link for keyboard users; a mobile navigation menu that works with keyboard and screen readers (English, Dari and Pashto versions); visible focus outlines on interactive elements; a prefers-reduced-motion override that disables non-essential animation, including the hero carousel not auto-starting at all, for visitors who request it at the operating-system level; a hero carousel that can otherwise be paused at any time with a visible, keyboard-reachable pause control (not hover-only); descriptive alt text on images; a semantic heading structure and <main> landmark; correct lang/dir attributes on each language version of the site; and text colour combinations checked against the WCAG AA 4.5:1 contrast threshold using calculated contrast ratios rather than visual judgement alone.

Known gaps

The contact form is a working prototype (see the Contact section) rather than a fully tested, screen-reader-audited form flow. This accessibility statement itself has not been translated into Dari or Pashto yet. The site has not been through a formal third-party accessibility audit or testing with real assistive-technology users — the items above reflect our own internal checks, not independent certification.
